The flange is held to the ring by three axial screws, and the ring is locked into place by a trasversal screw which tightens it around the pipe.
The thread for the tightening screw is only tapped into the ring itself, thus preventing the alluminium flange from gripping the pipe and at the same time ensuring independence between the flange and its locking ring.
